Description:

This module is offered in partnership with the Wiener Library, the world’s oldest Holocaust memorial institution, which is located on the Birkbeck campus. It draws on the Wiener Library’s unique collection of primary material and explores: Nazi propaganda; the experience of the Jewish communities; and the memory landscape of the 20th century’s definitive crime.

Description:

This course provides a platform from which students can analyse identity formation and the role of nationalism, racism and ethnic conflicts, applying theory to a variety of case studies. Students will examine topics in relation to culture, politics and religion, 'the war on terror', as well as globalisation and supranational identities.
